No call-out fee: labour starts when we arrive (one-hour minimum, then half-hour blocks). For online bookings the first hour is paid in advance and credited to your invoice. Any parking or congestion charges are disclosed in advance.

Common faults we trace
Repeated RCD or breaker tripping, dead circuits, intermittent power, flickering or dimming lights, burning smells, hot sockets, and faults that appear only when a particular appliance is used. We isolate the affected circuit and test systematically to find the real cause.
How we diagnose
We use appropriate electrical testing to narrow down the cause, which may involve wiring, accessories or connected equipment. We explain what we find and agree further work. Some intermittent or concealed faults need more than one visit to investigate fully.
Charged fairly
Fault finding is charged by time and materials with a clear hourly structure, so you only pay for the work actually needed. We give an indicative estimate up front wherever possible.
What to tell us about a fault
Describe what happens, when it started, which circuits are affected and whether any appliance or recent work appears connected. Diagnosis can take time; we explain the charging basis and agree further work as findings become clear. A diagnostic visit is not a promise that every fault can be repaired within a fixed time.

How much does fault finding cost?
It's charged by time: a one-hour minimum, then 30-minute blocks. Scheduled weekday visits (07:00–17:00, booked at least 24 hours ahead) are £90 + VAT per hour (£108 for the first hour including VAT). Evening, night, weekend and short-notice rates are in our service terms. Parts are extra.
Is there a call-out fee?
No. Labour starts when we arrive. For online bookings the first hour is paid in advance and credited to your invoice. Any parking or congestion charges are disclosed in advance.
Will you find and fix the fault in the first hour?
Not always. Fault finding is chargeable investigation, not a promise that every fault can be found or repaired within the first hour. We explain the findings, options and any further chargeable work before going ahead.
Can a video call help first?
Yes. A 30-minute video appointment with an AC Kinetic electrician is £45 + VAT (£54), paid online when you book. If you book a visit within 7 days, the £45 + VAT is deducted. It's advice only, not an inspection, and no certificate is issued.
