Our electrical work in Little Venice
Our Little Venice jobs are concentrated on the streets around the canal: Warwick Avenue, Warrington Crescent, Warrington Gardens, Blomfield Road, Randolph Crescent and Lanark Road. Most are flats in converted stucco houses, including several basement and garden flats.
Fault call-outs are the most common job, with tripping power in basement flats, emergency visits and water getting into light fittings. We also carry out EICRs and remedial work for landlords, add and upgrade sockets, replace light fittings and sensors, and install smart lighting such as Philips Hue.
Basement and garden flats need particular care: damp and water ingress can cause nuisance tripping, and meters are often in shared areas, so we plan access with the tenant, landlord or managing agent before we arrive. For a Warwick Avenue garden flat let by its landlord, we carried out the EICR, completed the remedial work and came back to check the installation afterwards.

Planning work in a Little Venice flat
For properties with several flats, confirm which entrance and meter serve your home. A shared building does not necessarily have shared electrical circuits, and access to a communal cupboard may need to be arranged with a managing agent.
If you want to change lighting, send photographs of the fittings and any dimmer controls, together with the result you want. Electrical work in Little Venice's period homes
Little Venice grew up around the junction of the Regent's Canal and the Grand Union Canal, with stucco terraces and villas along Blomfield Road, Warwick Avenue and the surrounding streets. Much of it lies within a conservation area, and some buildings are listed. Our registered address is nearby in W9, and our regular Maida Vale work is a few streets away.
Conservation areas and listed buildings
Changes visible from outside, such as an EV charger or outdoor lighting on a front elevation, or surface cable runs, may need planning or listed building consent from Westminster City Council. In listed interiors, chasing walls or disturbing cornices can also need consent. Please check before work is booked. We plan cable routes to keep alterations discreet and agreed in advance.
Converted period houses
Many large houses are now flats, and the meters and main switches are often in a shared basement or entrance hall. If your consumer unit is being replaced or a fault traced, we may need access there, so please arrange it with the freeholder or managing agent.
Inspections for owners and landlords
An EICR records the condition of the installation before you buy, let or renovate. Landlords in England need one at least every five years, with a copy for tenants. Remedial work is quoted separately.
